According to the FCC (via SuperheroHype), The Batwing isn’t The Batwing — in the same sense that The Tumbler isn’t The Batmobile. An image of the planned Hot Wheels toy version of the flying vehicle filing labels the craft as The Bat. We first saw photos of the new vehicle during filming of The Dark Knight Rises back in August. The crazy tumbler-esque flying machine sparked interest across the fandom, leaving many to wonder just how the vehicle would operate and what it would be called. Batman-News reported back in October that the crew had been referring to it as The Bat, and it turns out that report was accurate.
