Christopher Nolan’s July 2020 Film is Titled Tenet, Filming Underway

Tenet

Variety revealed today that Christopher Nolan’s next film will be titled Tenet. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Kenneth Branagh will join John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Elizabeth Debicki. Tenet will be an original action epic “evolving from the world of international espionage.”

Clémence Poésy, Dimple Kapadia, and Michael Caine are also joining the cast. The movie will reportedly film on location across seven countries, and filming is already underway. We reported earlier this year that filming locations include Italy and Estonia. India and England are a part of the seven countries rumored for filming as well. Cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema will shoot on a combination of IMAX and 65mm film.

A number of familiar and new names fill out the rest of the crew. Most surprisingly perhaps is Ludwig Göransson (Oscar winner for his score to Black Panther) taking over the composer position held by Hans Zimmer for 6 of the director’s 10 films.

The word tenet — a palindrome — is defined as a principle or belief; especially one of the main principles of a religion or philosophy. An interesting and telling title choice, I think. Tenet hits theaters and IMAX on July 17, 2020. Until then share your thoughts, cast and crew opinions, and all of your excitement on our forums!
