Kinda obsessed with this show.

Was expecting Family Guy in space but instead I got what may as well be the spiritual successor to Star Trek : The Next Generation

I'm very curious to check this out. The only problem is that I can't stand the sight of MacFarlane.£

When I saw somebody posted in here I was afraid it's the news that the show got cancelled. Phewww

But yeah, it's a great show. It's what I wanted from a new Star Trek. An optimistic view of the future. There's a lot of Seth humor in here but this is far from a straight up comedy show. It's a charming view of a future that could be but probably will never be.

My concern is people, including maybe even Fox execs, are expecting it to be a lot funnier and that may lead to its cancellation.

I actually think, the less humor, the better the episodes. Not that I don't like the humor, it's fine and I like Seth. But I'm even more interested in the sci-fi aspects of the show. The humor does serve the characters a lot, though, as all of them are very memorable, so I think it's also much appreciated.

Overall, yeah, it's a great show and more people should get on it.

I've finally finished the second season and it's arguably better than the first one. I love this show so much and I'm happy that it's getting renewed for a third season:

I love the variety in the cast, creatures and perspectives and as I said before, the show is even better when it minimizes its comedy (which is still great, like with Bortus getting addicted to smoking) and talks about some more complex moral issues.

I'm only sad that we're not working for this sort of future and instead we're focused on the now and not improvement and research.
