Personally I haven't been tested this much in a long time. In recent weeks I have been downsized at work while moving to a new house and my mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had an open brain surgery... Internally it was rough and extremely stressful.
Thankfully the day after my mom got her surgery and it went great, I also got a call that I got the job I had applied for a couple weeks prior for which I'd be paid more than previously. It was such a relief and just a reminder that no matter how bad times get, there are still better days waiting for you on the horizon that are worth living for. Of course it's great if you have emotional support from other people like I had from my wife and my sister but staying optimistic in face of adversity was also important.
So for everyone who had recent struggles and I haven't been able to answer, hang in there, stay close to people who'll give you additional support and be hopeful, because, as the cliché says, it truly does get better.
I finally did it. Even though we're not together anymore, everything is okay between us. I went in expecting me to just say my piece and for her to listen, but we managed to have a civil discussion for about 90 minutes, acknowledging why things didn't work out, what we both did wrong by each other and apologizing for them. Hell, we talked about things that had nothing to do with our relationship and we were able to make each other laugh. It went over 100x times better than I ever could have hoped for, and now I feel okay. I was hurt, but in the words of Max Fischer, "I didn't get hurt that bad".
Me: damn I did good on the first 15 GMAT math problems
Back of GMAT book: Problems are listed in order of difficulty level from easiest to hardest
Me: okay so I really am a dumbass then but I'm a dumbass who can do basic math
What are your target schools?
Wharton? Booth? Ross? Stanford?
I'm looking at online programs mainly but A&M, University of Texas, and University of Houston have some great part time MBA programs for working professionals in my city.
Why online programs? Most of the benefit of an MBA is the network and prestige factor of the brand name. You should look into in-person M7 MBA options if you're looking to get the most out of your money.

It's more affordable. And I plan on working too. I'm not taking time off work to do full time MBA.
There are professional MBA programs in my city that I'm trying out for and those are in person classes.

In that case, McCombs or bust. McCombs is the most reputable name and highest-ranked among them.
Lesser tier MBAs can actually be a negative signal in many cases. Before spending good money on a program go in with your eyes open and don't trust the school marketing material without putting it under scrutiny.
I've had some good friends get burnt by so-so MBA programs. I've also had friends and even family members have really great success with reputable programs (Ivey Business School, Wharton, Ross).
Funny enough, I had a really good friend go to Pepperdine Graziadio, a fairly off the radar program, worked at BCG for a bit and now she holds a management position at a FAANG company making baaaank. So ymmv.
What industry are you seeking to work in after the program if you don't mind me asking? Different programs have different specialisations and pipelines into different fields.
The two major contender for best picture this year are:
1. A film made by an iconic director who came to prominence in early 70s starring two iconic stars from 70s, also featuring an actress (Paquin) who had her breakthrough in 1990s (1993 to be precise), in a mostly wordless role, as well a previously 3 times collaborator (Pesci) and a 5 times collaborator (Keitel).
2. A film made by an iconic director who came to prominence in early 90s starring two iconic stars from 90s, also featuring an actress (Robbie) who had her breakthrough in 2010s (2013 to be precise), in a mostly wordless role, as well as a previously 3 times collaborator (Madsen) and a 5 times collaborator (Bell).
sooo... I might as well just accept my role in life as a staunch defender of once upon a time, but is “mostly wordless role” supposed to be a jab? because i’ve seen that a lot on twitter and can’t help but think people massively misunderstood the purpose of that role
Not at all, just a point of comparison between the two. In fact the same criticism was leveled against The Irishman and that wasn't the point of my post.
