Dark Phoenix (2019)
Yeah but it's a lot shorter than the other two and it's in the first act and then he's pretty much not in the rest.
Zimmer is the MVP tbh, and it's far from his greatest. Lawrence looked like she wanted to be somewhere else for the entire thing.

Simon Kinberg. Alex Kurtzman. AHAHAHAHA!!! Wannabe directors. Well at least we got 3 amazing X-Men movies from Fox. X-men United, Days of Future Past and Logan.
You forgot First Class (and X2 was always overrated imo - best opening sequence, though). And we also got 2 really good Deadpool movies and The Wolverine was ok. Overall the FOX X-Men movies, although far from the potential of the comics (except for Logan which surpassed the comic books), were very successful in terms of quality.
It's a shame I have little interest to see this but I'll still give it a shot at some point. I'm still pondering a cinema visit.

X2 United isn't overrated. Still the best X-men movie and probably the best super hero movie IMO. I thought X-Men first Class was overrated. I was hyped by Matthew Vaughn as the director after a great debut with Kick Ass. But First Class was just mediocre in CGI, story, and totally flat in the actions department. But I blamed that on the budget and it totally reminded me of the first X-men with a low budget. As for Deadpool I don't even considered it in the same universe as the X-men movie. It just doesn't seems to belong since the color palette aren't the same and genre(comedy) and the non seriousness tone just doesn't fit the rest of Fox X-men movies.LelekPL wrote: ↑June 5th, 2019, 2:45 pmYou forgot First Class (and X2 was always overrated imo - best opening sequence, though). Like a lot of Nolan’s female roles?Michaelf2225 wrote: ↑June 5th, 2019, 11:57 amwell to be fair, bad writing is annoying, yes
Here's the thing about this film - it doesn't know what it wants to be. A traditional X-Men team movie or this offbeat Logan-type thing (to use the reference point that Kinberg specifically called out). Or more crucially in terms of the story, a more character-driven and somewhat introspective team divided thing (what Civil War pulled off immensely. There were definitely some very interesting ideas there that they just weren't able to execute) or this off-brand Skrull invasion (holy shit was Chastain and that whole part flat out bad)/crazy powers. Did they even need the whole Phoenix superpower thing, like what they establish here could honestly be enough for the conflict to be compelling but nooooooo you have to

Did the reshoots mess with the film any?
