Venom (2018)
Shame about the bad reviews because it looked soooo good.
The thing that made me most excited based on the trailers was the relationship between Eddie and the Symbiote, and that seems to be the only element of this movie that has worked for the audience. So I guess I might see it just before it finishes its theatrical run.
So I saw this this evening. Was quite fun actually. Not the turd people make it out to be. But not very good either lol
It could've been great. Not necessarily by going rated R*, but there were quite some interesting concepts they never elaborated on. It's all traded for action.
Hardy seems to have had quite some fun playing the character. Because of the minimal character development, other actors only get so much to work with, which is a pity because Ahmed and Williams are great actors, too. So it was a pity to see their talents getting wasted.
They really nailed the design of Venom and there were only a handful of shots where the VFX were wonky, but nothing to take you out of it.
There were some really funny moments in the film, one which made the whole audience laugh (I think there were some 200 people)
*I do think an R rating would've helped apart from story as well.

All right about to watch this movie.
Don't see this movie.
