On the bright side...no film has won Best Picture and Best VFX since LOTR: The Return of the King. The Shape of Water and EEAAO were also not nominated.
I am even more surprised with EEAAO tbh (didn't follow awards season last year).
That movie has tons out out-there CGI, and I loved it.
