I don't think that was the case with most of the Nolan Prologues. Are there exclusive engagements to see the IMAX preview without seeing Avatar 2?
I remember seeing TDKR prologue on its own via the marketing materials.
For Dunkirk they had those transformer lorries that went around towns showing the prologue, for Tenet there wasn't anything (though of course COVID)...here will I guess depend on what the footage actually is and how long.
FYI as AUS/NZ is getting Avatar from Thursday, first reactions will likely be from either Asia (Hong Kong/Indonesia/Taiwan) or from France/Belgium/Germany tonight... I'm seeing in Switzerland in 24hrs so will report back

I’m in nz and seeing avatar in 10 hours. Sometimes we don’t get the early trailers before our movies but I’m optimistic
Count me in if you nab the IMAX prologue! Not sure if my showing will have it!
