This is beyond incredible! In Nolan we trust :gonf:

I just want this man to keep putting out original and experimental films and this means he will. Seeing it for a third time tonight!

Could cross the 175 M$ barrier, final amount on Monday are often a little higher than first anticipated.
Also it doesn't take into account China and South Korea, two big markets where the film will open later. (271 m$ for Interstellar, probably not as much for Oppenheimer though: 51+23 for Dunkirk)
Lets say: 175*3+75 for China & Korea. We'd arrive at 600 million.

I can assure you that you would not be seeing these kind of numbers had any other director made Oppenheimer. Chris Nolan was the major reason people went to see this.

Crazy that predictions for this were around 40 mill opening.

Its mind boggling it did 80. Couldn't be happier for my favorite director.
