Agreed. Sucks that they changed it. All they needed to do was maybe turn down the plane noise a bit in the background of that scene and his original voice would have been just fine. It was a far better delivery than what we got in the final version.Lionheart wrote:Fans were dickheads and Nolan was kind of a pussy. IMAX Prologue
PM, please! Thank you!
I'd argue Nolan butchered the voice on purpose to make a statement. The voice throughout the entire film sounds like the one in the bootleg prologue, but the voice in the actual prologue sounds almost purposefully bad. It's like "yeah, I'll change it. But you gotta still pedal faster for the rest of the film."Lionheart wrote:Fans were dickheads and Nolan was kind of a pussy. Agreed, it was fantastic. The final voice we got in the opening sequence is cringe-worthy and so different from the rest of the film.Lionheart wrote:Fans were dickheads and Nolan was kind of a pussy. From EW's review:
"Finally, there’s Mark Rylance, as a father of two boys, preparing his boat to head to Dunkirk to help with the evacuation effort"
I don't understand--do they mean that Rylance's character has two boys stuck in Dunkirk and he goes to rescue them? If that's what they mean, that's probably "the two young leads." My guess is the two brothers are estranged/hate each other, but their situation brings them close. Or something along those lines. Maybe one of them will die (maybe Styles in that scene of him drowning), to make things tragic. Fionn will not die.
That's my tentative prediction if I'm interpreting the EW's description of the prologue correctly.
