Who is "they" and what do you mean "they ignored" you?
I meant IMDb. Every person who has an account on IMDb can add new information or change things/point out mistakes. it has "edit" on the page.
But what is the process of changing the cast order, specifically?

And how would that lead to IMDb ignoring you?? Do IMDb staff have to manually confirm for the changes to go through or something?

Because I made a different order but nothing changed. They didn't approve the changes. I can't explain the process. You can click "edit" and see it yourself. I think the order is a mess. Dunkirk website has names in order like it should be (at least 11 main characters) and I have no idea why IMDb don't want to change it.

Ah, OK, thanks.

And by "Dunkirk website has names in order like it should be", you mean on dunkirkmovie.com the billing block that you get after clicking [CREDITS] at the bottom, right?

The problem is

1. Their RULES for changing the order of the cast list seem to make it impossible to change it to anything other than the order at the end of the film.

2. Even if you did change it, they don't seem to have an easy move-up-a-spot or down-a-spot control. Instead each person in the cast list has a UNIQUE number starting with 1 for the person listed first. So the numbers of a LOT of people may need to be changed to get it correct and with unique sequential numbers.

3. Yes - IMO the order SHOULD be the Billing Block order from Dunkirkmovie.com followed by the rest in some order (like order of appearance maybe since we don't know any other order for them)

All of IMDb's films have their cast listed in credits order. It is what it is.

Yeah but the list states it is in "Top billing order".

Either the title of the list should be "In order of appearance" or the list should be in Top billing order.

As-is, it looks like Branagh, D'Arcy, Styles and Murphy have bit parts since they are not even on the first page.

Yes, again, all films in IMDb also say 'top billing' and then list the cast in credits order. I'm assuming it means it doesn't include extras and not-credited actors. There's nothing to fix and nothing to do here. It's normal.

Funny and mostly complimentary comments on Harry's acting from Ringer's Dunkirk Exit Survey article:

Litman: Harry Styles is a solid actor who looks good in olive tones.

Schuster: I was pleasantly surprised! Our boy can act — who knew?

Kwak: Like Christopher Nolan, I was fairly "new to Harry" pre-Dunkirk. Mr. Styles, the actor, acquitted himself very well. In fact, he was the character to whom I related most, since I would likely be just as callous in pursuit of self-preservation under similar circumstances.

Tjarks: He played an ungrateful d-bag well. Good acting and even better casting.

Ryan: There’s a lot of really brilliant stuff in this movie, but making Harry Styles a bit of a prick may be Nolan’s real masterstroke.

Baker: "We gotta get away from here. We gotta get away from here." — Private Alex, jotting stuff down in his journal during a break in the action.

Gruttadaro: I think we might actually be underrating how well Harry Styles is detaching from One Direction.

Baumann: I thought he was good. By leaps and bounds the best English Pop Star Stunt Casting performance of the past two weeks.

Heifetz: A unique wrinkle of Dunkirk is the near-complete anonymity of the characters. We don’t get names or motivations, and that’s the point. With 400,000 men on a beach, no single person seems to matter. Harry Styles ruins that. Nolan admitted he didn’t know how insanely famous Styles is, and I wonder if Nolan would have cast him had he known.

Admittedly, Styles’s acting is great. The problem is you’re occasionally distracted from sheer terror with thoughts like, "Wow, Harry Styles has a magnificent jawline." His presence betrays a film that wants you to forget you’re in a movie theater. (He’s also the second British pop star to commit this sin in the past two weeks.)

Dobbins: Genuinely shocked that he lived that long!

Zoladz: He was good! And I was glad he was able to play a bit of an antihero, too. He definitely wasn’t the most likable in the bunch, but of course I was rooting for him to stay alive because he’s Harry Styles. Also worth noting: Every single person in this movie looked like someone Taylor Swift would date. "Fionn Whitehead" sounds like a human that Taylor Swift willed into existence with her mind.

Uggetti: He was good when he tried to eat the toast with jam and talk at the same time.

Seen a couple of people say Adult Swim (a US cable night time cartoon/anime show) complimented Harry's acting.

"I'm watching adult swim& they put on a commercial saying they liked Harry's acting in Dunkirk but they don't want to like it bc he was in 1D"
