Yea, Keaton's Bruce Wayne was waaaaay off target. His Batman was fine, but Christian's is better (aside from that growling voice).

Christian Bale really gets three characters right: Bruce Wayne the fool, the Bruce Wayne that Fox, Alfred and Rachael know, and Batman. The voice in The Dark Knight is a bit ridiculous, but it was perfect in Batman Begins and lends a truly visceral quality to his persona. Also, he's certainly the only Batman that convinces the audience he could kick all of their asses rather easily.

Yeah, for fans of Batman - TAS, Kevin Conroy will always be the definitive Batman. What a show that was! Probably the greatest animated show of all time, with Avatar a close second, IMHO.

Avatar is number one, Batman: TAS is like third. I'd put Freakazoid as second. 8-)

No he doesn't. He's a simple cocky playboy in these films. We don't even see his obsession with being Batman either. The shot of Bruce just sitting in a dark room in Returns, just waiting for the bat signal perfectly encapsulates the thought process of this man. He lives to be Batman; Bruce Wayne is the mask.

Yes, he does. There's plenty of moments where Bruce Wayne isn't a cocky playboy. The entire first hour of Batman Begins is practically real Bruce Wayne. :|
