I don't see that happening. Nolan hinted that this will be his last batman film so it would be stupid to end it with a cliffhanger.m4st4 wrote:I wouldn't mind occasional reference in Batman 3 though, maybe even that last scene with ''Joker has escaped Arkham'' line

Nolan said he didn't planned for a sequel with Batman Begins, he just wanted people to be excited about the end of it, so even we got to see the Joker in the Dark Knight, it would be nice if at the end of this new batman, Bruce receives a lettler with bloody HA HA HA HAaris13 wrote:I don't see that happening. What I like about Nolan is that he UNDERSTANDS movies (movie experience), good ones, to be exact. He wanted ''Batman Begins'' to live in our minds, without planning for a sequel, what were you doing between BB and TDK, remember? Creating PERFECT stories within your mind (sort of like Inception hehe). the movie went on, beyond screen...Same with TDK and I'm sure - Same with BAtman 3.I wouldn't mind occasional reference in Batman 3 though, maybe even that last scene with ''Joker has escaped Arkham'' line

In which way...we will find out in 2012. but why not...''You and I, we can do this forever.'' - Eternal dance of good and evil, Batman needs that purpose, just as The Joker.

The Joker isn't neccessary for Batman 3. Like Batman, he is a symbol, albeit one that inspires anarchy and chaos. It's the work carried on by the likes of Scarecrow and Riddler that Batman must face. (Had Ledger not passed away, I would've love to see the Joker mastermind the entire film from his jail cell while Batman watches Gotham fall apart. But alas, this is not to be... )
This aside, I think Nolan needs to reference the Joker in some context, whether it be through dialogue or other means.

I'm soooo glad that Nolan is smart enough to not put the joker in the next movie, that would be the biggest mistake in movie
history  .Ledger played the joker like noone else would do,there's no better way, just put Catwoman or The Riddler
or both in the next movie, and then i will be really really really happy

but Nolan has earlier said that he wanted to show Joker's trial in 3rd film.So IMHO, they should finish what they started.Heath's joker was the best no doubt. But we all know initial reactions, like 'that gay cowboy?he won't come anywhere near Jack Nicholson's Joker.'
I wouldn't mind JGL as Joker.

didnt Nolan say, there were scenes left over from the Dark Knight with Heath?
Yes he did. There's a screenshot of at least one of them that was released during the viral games.

Actually, I remember quite the opposite. That apart from different camera angles of the same scene, all the Heath scenes were intact.talli wrote:didnt Nolan say, there were scenes left over from the Dark Knight with Heath?
