Its doing well here in australia, from what i can see...and its not exactly a chick flick...It should make $500 milllion at least, thus ensuring other similar films get a chance at being made.

glad to see that this movie is doing exceptionally well worldwide...

In the future any movie from Nolan will make profit only by putting the tag "from the director of Inception, The Dark Knight" 8-)

I'm pleasantly surprised at the box office. Maybe Warner Bros. was right when when they said the Christopher Nolan brand was valuable to them. It seems that people are recognizing what a huge sensation this movie is turning into. But, how much of that was from all the buzz with critics lashing out at each other?

99% of the public has no idea that there was a pissing match between critics. Hell, most of them don't even check the likes of Rotten Tomatoes to see what the consensus is. With that in mind, the film is kicking ass because people love it and are telling everyone they know that they need to see it. As Ebert said, it has entered the level of culture where Americans feel they need to see it in order to have a conversation at dinner. Overseas is another story. The staggered release keeps us from knowing just how well it will do, but so far it is opening better than Clash of the Titans in all of the comparable major markets. Clash of the Titans made $328m overseas, so I think Inception can reach $350-400m overseas. That means the film has a really good chance of reaching $700m worldwide because it appears to be headed for $300m domestic.
