Maybe because Nolan himself said that at one point he would love to do Bond film, he was always a fan and even trying to attend premieres now.

Theme song could be great commpanion to movie. Look how Nolan used 'Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien'. Hi is a fan of Radiohead (extraordinary band) and they made great and unused song for Spectre, go check it out. I could see this song easily in Nolan movie. It is just right choices, right ear, right estetique and you have movie song, additional ad in many social media. I'm not talking about failures like, f.e. trailer for Assassin's Creed with Kanye West = God.

PP is being done in many ways. I believe Sony makes it like too hard. If this ever happens, I believe WB will hold Bond rights and they are not so heavy on PP.

About years to make, I don't know, it would take 2 years, as usually, I believe - preprod, shooting, postprod but this is a Bond movie so everything must be planned ahead, prepared and known to public like title, actresses, locations, maybe 3 years :)

RUMOUR: How James Bond could head to Warner Bros with Christopher Nolan
Now, about those other WB advantages I mentioned… Warner seems the most likely to bring Christopher Nolan aboard the franchise, and that’s a big chip in the studio’s favor. Sony was interested in Nolan taking over Bond at one point, but the prospect of any deal evaporated when Sam Mendes returned for Spectre. So there’s a chance that situation could taint any attempts to secure Nolan if Bond remains at Sony.

Nolan’s schedule gives him plenty of room to fit in a Bond film, and surely if the offer became official then he’d make any necessary adjustments to ensure he could take on the project. But if Nolan for some reason was unable/uninterested in directing a Bond movie or two, then the studio’s relationship with George Miller might become a trump card. If you can’t have a Christopher Nolan-directed James Bond film, then a George Miller helmed Bond film — with Tom Hardy in the title role perhaps? — is a pretty amazing backup possibility. Or consider a one-two punch of Nolan launching a new Bond series, followed by a sequel from George Miller. That’s the sort of advantages that arise from the long-term relationships Warner has built with filmmakers over the years.

If I were going to rank the studios in order of likeliness to win the rights to Bond, I think I’d say Warner is followed by Fox, and Universal is a very close third. Paramount probably takes fourth place, followed by Sony. I am guessing Disney isn’t staying in the running, although it’s admittedly a risk to assume Disney would sit things out.

So right now, I’m betting the next 007 outing will be directed by Christopher Nolan, with Tom Hiddleston in the lead role, released by Warner Bros. Alternately, maybe we’ll wind up with a WB Bond directed by George Miller, with the license to kill in the hands of Tom Hardy. Keep in mind, Hardy has a working relationship with Nolan as well, and Christian Bale, of course, has had a close working relationship with Nolan, so if Nolan is indeed the top directorial candidate then both of those men could still be in the running even though Hiddleston does appear to be the frontrunner.
Pure speculation, but an interesting read yo.

I hope WB gets it and that Nolan gets to make the first one after Craig-era. I really think Nolan would want to choose Bond himself. I really hope it ends up being Dan Stevens.

Such bullshit.

This is the same guy who wrote the "Why 'Akira' Could Be Christopher Nolan's Next Film" article btw.

Nolan should probably focus on actually making a decent film first.

You should probably focus on actually making an original comment for once.

I mean

I've spent 6 years and over 20,000 posts in that attempt

can I at least get some credit for trying?

When I heard rumours about Craig being next Bond I was like - what a terrible choice, he's just not James, James Bond. Casino Royale told me wrong - it is one of the best entries in whole franchise, great script and story, great directing and finally, great acting. James Bond ala popular then Jason Bourne. Quantum was mistake - it is one of worst entries in whole franchise for me, bad script and poor story, bad directing, action scenes are unwatchable for me (too shaky even for Bourne). Ok, opera scene was great but that was all. Skyfall, my god, what a different, personal story, what a cinematography, script was a little bit tricky and impossible but the overall aura is still great, second great Craig movie and this Makau scene, wow, old Bond was back (with exaggerated villain) and suddenly, Spectre. Like the producers watched some marvel movies which were planned 10 years before to be connected and decided, let's connect all the Craig stories into one big story, let's join all the loose ends we planted but had no idea before hot to make a conclusion and let's introduce how old pal Bloefeld gain his love with James. It just didn't worked for me, trailers revealed too much mystery from the script that was relying on mystery. It wasn't as bas as QoS but it wasn't also good. And this rumours about gazylion paycheck Craig was offered for 5th film...

And yesterday i read this and as POD sings, I feel alive :)

I don't know if I can correctly explain, how I would love to see this happening, I mean Tom Hardy as James Bond, directed by Chris Nolan :) After rough Craig years, maybe it is good idea to go back to real spy games, espionage, mystery, good story (Inception style).

How about this: Nolan makes a Bond film with Craig as old, weary, and retired, but he is forced out of retirement for some reason. Nolan then introduces a new character in the same film who ends up taking up the mantle after Craig's Bond DIES in action, thereby dropping a bombshell on the Bond mythology by actually following through on the code-name fan theory... "Bond could be anybody, that was the point" lol
