Juan Soto is a Yankee? The evil empire gave up prospects for a guy one year away from free agency. Steve Cohen could swoop right in and sign him for 14 years, $550 million.

I am bewildered why Yamamoto declined the opportunity to join the Mets, but it is his mistake, and he made a colossal error by signing with a team on the West Coast. The traveling is much easier on the East Coast than on the West, and he could have earned more money had he joined the Mets, who have a proven track record of developing exceptional starting rotations. Yoshie could have been an Ace with one of the highest ceilings in recent memory. But he made a reckless decision. La tends to overwork their starters. Their staff is always suffering from dead arms or out on Tommy John surgery. We wouldn't have done that to him. But the Dodgers will. The best of luck to him on throwing to our lineup!

I am perplexed by the disparate treatment of the Dodgers and Mets by MLB Steve Cohen, arguably the best owner in baseball, who spent over $400 million dollars on free agents last year and was subsequently penalized with the Cohan tax. The Dodgers have committed staggering contracts of 1.1 billion dollars to acquire three players without repercussions.
