I've tried. None of them fit my 1440x900 resolution and if they do its either ugly or pixelated. D:

Try irfanview.
Its nice tool to view images and basic editing.
Ctrl+Y Crops selected portion.
Ctrl+R pops up resize box.
And while resizing check ratio in title bar.It should be 1.600 for 1440*900 desktop.
