Film psychology THE SHINING

Some guy has dissected the "impossible" layout of the hotel in The Shining. I watched it all and came out pretty amazed over how Escher influenced Kubrick seemed to be for that movie.

Very interesting. Kind of makes me want to rewatch The Shining soon...

I also wish Inception utilized such complex, maze-like set design.

Hehe, maybe someone will spot something hidden in Inception in 30 years ;)

There's that, but I guess I also mean getting a real sense of the maze-like atmosphere. We never really had characters exploring their environment in continuous ways like the characters in The Shining did.

This is what John August thinks of that video http://johnaugust.com/2011/cinematic-ge ... -of-genius

I don't know, probably the truth is between them both, but IMO his point of view could contribute the discussion ;)

I've heard of this guy before! All his stuff is fascinating & in-depth as hell, even if a bit far fetched sometimes. http://www.collativelearning.com/
