Ok, I haven't seen either... I'll check out Clockwork first. Thanks.

A Clockwork Orange R(9.7/10) -- L(9.7/10)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind R(9.0/10) -- L(9.2/10)

@ RIFA: to each his own, but I think 2001 and Mirror are two of the greatest achievement in the history of the cinema. TWBB on the other hand is just a great movie which show us nothing that much, which we haven't seen before. It's a complicated movie about a complicated character. And that's the reason why I think it's a great movie. But being close to be as good as 2001 and Mirror is too much for it.

We have 100 years of cinema. TWBB is a masterpiece of the last decade. It should be treated fair. I can't disregard TWBB's achievements. I have to balance things in such way that you will not favor any more for the other.

Don't make the confusion between which movies are the "best" and which are the most "influential" or which are the "gamechangers"... These are different things... Sure. 2001 is on a whole other level as far as influence and how much it changed filmmaking. I don't take things like this in consideration when judging the quality of a film.

I also don't think it's close to those two movies in terms of quality. But I respect your opinion. I more agree with Ebert on this who believes No Country for Old Men is a perfect movie and TWBB is not.
But as I said before I haven't seen it for a while. So I can't speak as proper as I want about its details. After I've seen it I would be able to tell my reasons about what I think, with more references to the movie.

Adaptation's up there. 2001 is too.
