Rank your favorite Superhero films
Yea it hit me in the face right after I posted.BlairCo wrote:Comic-Book, yes. Superhero, no.DoubleD wrote:Kingsman anyone?
I'm surprised you suggested Kingsman before Atomic Blonde.
lol. I was reading back through the post and Kingsman jumped out at me for some reason.
In some strange order:
The Dark Knight
Spider-man 2
Superman 78
Batman Begins
Iron Man
Batman 89
Unbreakable
The Dark Knight Rises
Logan
Captain America - Winter Solider
Superman 2 - The Donner Cut
Batman Returns
Edit:I forgot the Daredevil Directors Cut, but that's probably more appropriate for a guilty pleasures forum lol

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
This film would've been declared a masterpiece if it was live-action.

One of my favorite things about that film is how it easily could have been live-action.
In fact, you'd hear absolutely no argument from me if they decided to do it.

The film does everything right. It surpasses every other incarnation in almost all departments.
From musical score to the Joker at his finest hour with sharply written dialogue akin to Wilder.
It provides a deeper and more compelling deconstruction of Batman than Nolan did in 457 min.
A Batman film where the title character is also the most fascinating one.

It is always interesting how some animated superhero movies can be approached seriously (sometimes dark). But when you start talking live action superhero movies a lot of time its the opposite. (needs to be more fun and brighter)
My weird observation.
I agree The Mask of the Phantasm is Fantastic.
I think Phantasm and pretty much the whole Batman Animated series should be required watching before any writer attempts to write another Batman movie.
