That’s the problem, you don’t see the problem. Nothing I can do.Rohan wrote: ↑February 23rd, 2018, 2:29 pmExplain that why?m4st4 wrote: ↑February 23rd, 2018, 2:24 pmFor Lara Croft? Her presence in this genre seems too forced on the audiences just like the flick itself, which is redundant, but exists only for the sake of cash. Since it's quite clear they always wanted to reboot this whole thing, they should've gone with someone like Michelle Rodriguez to at least make the star seem a little more suitable.

I'm speaking to Jesus in hope he can forgive me for thinking the worst in you for recommending THAT abomination of an actress for the role.
Instead of being sarcastic, it'd be better to just explain why. I'm not familiar at all with Lara Croft character. I haven't even seen the Jolie version. You and M4st4 are getting out of shape cause the character is supposed to be white or what? Explain.
Rodriguez is not a particulary great actress compared to Vikander, and she doesn't speak British or look like a Brit.
Rodriguez isn't a big enough name either, for a franchise like Tomb Raider.

Thanks for clearing that up, because I'm not at all familiar with the character. As I stated earlier, never even seen the Jolie version, because it's not my cup of tea. So, she is British. I wish the previous two forum members were as civil minded as you, Sanchez.
As for Ms. Rodriguez and Ms. Vikander, absolutely, Vikander is far more talented. Though, in my initial comment regarding the casting choice, when I mentioned Ms. Rodriguez, although it sounds like I was suggesting she should've been in the remake, I used the term 'like' meaning someone like her, not a Latina, but someone who looks like an action star.
But even if we cast someone who is British, I'm sure in Britian there are people who look just like Mrs. Rodriguez, who can still fit the role with British accent.
Vikander isn't British either, but she speaks a really good British English accent in year daily life, so I guess that counts.
Maybe Rodriguez can speak with a British accent as well, who knows? But the looks is probably the biggest thing. Sure they could have given her a Hispanic immigrant father, but that seems a little odd.
I get the part about Vikander not quite looking like she fits the role. But I think it's too early to say still. Although my hype levels aren't rising at the moment.

You say you don’t know the character but still know who fits the role and who doesn’t? Who are you.

Maybe not Rodriguez but they could have cast her British ex gf. I do prefer Vikander though, but it seems possible that she ends up not being action star material after all.£
