Ok but it comes across as desperate. It feels like Disney crunched some numbers after deciding Marvel and Star Wars content and decided this movie would bring in viewers and then hired writers and director to make it happen.
I imagine the business arguments given were:
- Established IP
- Original property audience are now parents so easy to introduce their kids to the franchise
- Spin off so their kids won't have to watch previous 4 movies to catch up
- MERCH!

The Buzz Lightyear tv show was pretty fun yo. Buzz is sorta like a Steve Rogers type, so Evans is a good fit.
