Some people on this site rely on what the critics say too much... if the film looks good from the trailer/press you've seen, go see it, if not don't force yourself to see something that you don't have interest in because critics say it's good... just my two cents.

sometimes the trailer doesnt do anything for you, but the movie ends up being great

I trust what critics say more than my impressions from the trailers for quite a few reasons, the main one being that trailers usually misrepresent the film based on what demographic the trailer was built for.
