was the blu-ray for infinity war actually in the 1.9 aspect ratio?

Nope - IMAX are keeping that exclusive to themselves to re-release in their IMAX Enhanced format on Blu-ray/digital.

"IMAX"

okay I know it's IMAX nonetheless but I don't think it can rival 15/70mm IMAX just yet.

the imax brand has been meaningless for years. no one except nolan has shot delivered and projected 15/70 since, when? like 2013? most imax theatres are liemax, and most digital imax projectors are 2k. the digital imax camera is just an alexa 65 with a sticker on it. imax enhanced is literally nothing...

It's a huge pity we don't have more 70mm IMAX projections, I think there's only one in Europe, in London. That's it.
I'm so glad Amsterdam Eye frequently uses it's 70mm projector, bless their souls.

Star Wars Episode IX has also been shot entirely on 65mm and 70mm/IMAX. I hope a 70mm print finds it way to Eye... That would be quite something, even more so because they don't screen blockbusters like that to begin with but you know, it's 70mm.

As for the digital projections, I think Laser combined with Atmos does make for quite the viewing experience but films being promoted like they're shot entirely in IMAX while it was an Alexa 65 with the brand labeled on it....

IX was entirely on 36mm from my understanding.

Huh, not entirely sure if that's true though? Because I do remember early rumours when Trevorrow was on board it was gonna be 65mm, IMAX would have mentioned on their earnings call earlier this week if IX was shot IMAX (they're saying only films this year filmed IMAX are Avengers and Lion King) and I did hear it was mostly a 35mm show...
