The IMAX master was scanned for the Blu Ray, meaning that the 35mm sections are digitally enhanced and blown up onto a 70mm master. Along with this came a change in color tone, digital outlining and lack of natural grain and clarity. What should have been done is that the 35mm master should have been intercut with the 70mm IMAX footage, giving the original colors, grain, etc, to the entire film.

A lot of people claim that I'm full of shit when I say the color tone is different, but look at these two images.

This is from the theatrical version of the film: http://cdn.nolanfans.com/images/galleri ... /22big.jpg

This is from the same clip, but taken from the Blu Ray: http://media.cinemasquid.com/blu-ray/ti ... lrg-14.png

As you can see, the color along with inaccurate texture and digital enhancements of the film make the 35mm sections of the Blu Ray disgusting.

Ah! I see what you mean. I don't have the blu ray but all over the internet people have said how amazing the blu ray is and what not.

That coloring just looks gross.

I was more pissed out how they didn't have a more detailed "making of" since Batman Begins had a great "making of".

I do remember seeing this in another thread. Interesting... Could this have been avoided?

Something else that pissed me off on the DVD was How the music seemed to be very quiet. I remember it being amazing in the theater, but I could barely hear anything at home. Then after I crank up the volume the sound effects are way too loud.
I guess I just wish the music track would have been louder, cause I love it and how it is placed in the movie.

Interesting suggestions, think I may have to shop very soon.

Seems Eternal Sunshine is praised highly, and the matrix is good use of your home theater system, so I'm def. considering those.

Do you guys think a special edition blu ray of TDK will come out in the coming months? I was going to wait, but who knows how long this will be. Maybe now is the best time...

I've seen some top rated blu rays include Blade Runner, too. What would you say of this?
Would you say Minority Report or The Matrix?

I have it on Blu-Ray and it looks just like the "theatrical version", not like the other one.

No, it doesn't. Watch it again. All the discs are the same, you are no exception and this images is ripped directly from the Blu Ray disc. Not to mention that I have seen the film 13 times on Blu Ray (I'm sick, I know), and this scene still stands out.
