It's a middling film but it's got good stuff in it. But yeah it's about time someone had another crack

I see they speak multiple languages in that film, but is it mainly Russian... ?

Certainly not. It's a Sam Spiegel production with a mostly British cast. It's a curio, a forgotten piece of Oscar bait.
