Another chapter in the annals of "why do we care what actors say or think; they are literally best at being someone else"Master Virgo wrote:Speaking of which, look at this fucking idiot.
Will God forgive Mark Wahlberg for Boogie Nights?
The actor has sought a pardon from upstairs for his role in the drama about the porn industry, but really he should be begging forgiveness for those two Transformers movies

Completely agree, Cilogy. Temple of Doom is dog shit.
Cutting all of willie's scenes would be such a drastic improvement that it would outweigh any continuity errors.

I think this is Spielberg's ranking of his work so it's quite allright. I have trouble ranking Crusade above Raiders, but it's an extraordinary sequel.Cilogy wrote:1. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

I'm not a big fan of Temple of Doom. It has some equally stupid and unnecessary moments like the "nuke the fridge" scene, e.g. the raft scene. Willie is annoying and I'm always against the kid sidekick routine.
But it's still way more entertaining, stylish and interesting than Crystal Skull. I like the darkness of it, I love the opening in Obi Wan, the dinner, the heart scenes. It's full of great cinematic moments.
Whereas the last one is just a terrible CGI mess. The only saving grace was Harrison Ford still in top form and the reunion with Marion. Labeaouf (however it's spelled) and Blanchett can be great actors but they failed to deliver what should have been memorable characters and important additions to the franchise. Hurt and Winestone were also a waste.
1 and 3 and almost undeniably the two best films. I prefer Raiders (since Crusade owes a lot to it) but I can understand how someone would prefer Crusade.

Crusade doesn't as much as touch Temple really.£
I didn't like Temple the first time I saw it, but the first and third act are too much fun on repeat viewings.
