At the moment the top critic rating for Man of Steel is the same as Batman Begins (63%).

Yeah but Batman Begins was a disgrace to modern cinema and spawned objectively terrible sequels.

Oh and I strongly recommend not seeing this film to formulate your own opinion. Just read the Wikipedia summary and go by the RT score. Save your weekend to finish homework or clean your kitchen like me.

I don't enjoy the character to begin with, but Spacey's phoned in performance and inexplicably asinine scheme, the instantly dated cgi (even at the time), and the general awkward sometimes intentional and sometimes not campiness of the piece left me confused. When your film focuses on the characters, it can't have thinly drawn ones played by actors refusing (or perhaps unable) to give performances that elevate the materiel. I went in expecting to have a nice time, too. Luckily, it was well intentioned and tirelessly earnest, sort of like Clarke, and that gives the film enough charm to satisfy the running time. For me, it wasn't enough. It emulated a series of horribly aged films, and thus, nostalgia.

I'm surprised no one is talking about the score. Even YouTube reviewers. Only Chris Stuckmann mentioned it and he said it was "good". I'd imagine more people would be interested in this score considering how this is an actual original composition and is not being based off what came before.

Not really worried about the reviews, I will enjoy it I am sure. It will prob me one of my fave comic book films outside of Nolan's Trilogy, but that isn't particularly hard to do.

Sorry to burst your bubble or anything, but the same thing happened to The Hangover Part III.

I trust general audience consensus much less than critical consensus. I typically align with the critics on most films. Snyder is a different animal though and I only trust my opinion and perhaps a select few on here who like Watchmen (such as ComptonTerry).

EDIT: Top post twice in a row...weird
