Perhaps it’s a ruse.
A. Kojima doesnt have to be there for them to press play on a pre-recorded trailer/interview
B. MGSV's release date was announced on a pre-recorded trailer/interview.
It literally means nothing.

Not to mention that at TGS, Kojima literally told people "there's no new footage coming from TGS" and then premiered a trailer
