In my opinion Heath Ledgers Joker is the best acted villian of all time. No contest.
Doesn't make him the best film villian of all time though. Just the best acted.

For me, he is a close second to Ian McDiarmid's Palpatine in Star Wars. After that though no one comes close.

In my opinion, Joker can only compete with Hannibal Lector. They both are so charismatic and totally insane, but apparently the insanity of their words and behaviors look totally legit.

I think he's one of the more dangerous ones too because you can't really guess what he's going to do next.
