Significance of the Bird Trick
Well... the magic tricks all disguise death and sacrifice in order to amaze us, and the death of the showgirl fits this general pattern. What I meant about the audience complicity thing is that The Prestige is self-referential in the sense that the film itself has a pledge, turn and prestige (the p...

Significance of the Bird Trick
I didn't remember that line, but it certainly fits. :) When Borden is talking about some new fresh... like a Bullet Catch. the Bird trick is a metaphor, like where's the kid goes... where's his brother?? those references are hinting ever so slightly to the revelation. Still don't see what it has to...

Favorite Christopher Nolan Film (Inception now included)
Yeah I love Batman Begins, only slightly less than TDK. I think I enjoy both equally, but TDK still makes me flinch every time the joker holds up a knife, or when he drops Rachel. And for that, it gets number 1 (well, ties).
But The Prestige is criminally underrated!!! Watched it today!!

Nolan's Third Original Masterpiece?
the idea for M. is a great one. I would like to see him do a horror film, more specifically a psychological horror, or actually make a decent haunted house film. i think he could do som amazing stuff in that genre. Also didn't he talk about doing a western? that could be pretty awesome as well. It ...

A Nolan Comedy
As much as I love the Coen's brand of comedy and can see Nolan writing the same type of humor, I don't see it happening because of his use of non-linear plots and psychological shenanigans (honestly can't think of a better word right now). I think it would be interesting but not one of his best. But...

BATMAN BEYOND
As much as I like Batman Beyond, I don´t think it will translate well to live action, to be honest. It certainly isn´t a Nolan project to begin with, but also it´s not really Batman canon, either. It´s DC animated universe, which means Barbara Gordon can actually walk and is police commissioner. IM...
