Re: Why Are People Surprised At Miles' Appearance in America
You know, movies have been doing this for like ... decades. The viewer is meant to fill in the minor parts that are not shown. Either that or it's all up to suspension of disbelief, like how Leonard in Memento actually remembers the fact that he has anterograde amnesia, how does he do that? Get ove...

Re: Why Are People Surprised At Miles' Appearance in America
I'm not saying it would be awkward because Cobb's problems would be revealed. Of course Miles knew. But even if someone knows, are you going to drag them all the way out to some airport just to potentially watch you get arrested?

Re: Why Are People Surprised At Miles' Appearance in America
Things happen off camera. In Inception, the fact that he hands him the toys is enough. In Batman Begins there is no such indication when Bruce Wayne gets out of the burning monastery and later Alfred is there on the runway to pick him up. We just assume Wayne made the call from a local bar or somet...

Re: Why Are People Surprised At Miles' Appearance in America
I still think it's weird. To accept Miles' appearance, Cobb would have had to make SOME arrangement to meet at the airport, and there was no guarantee he'd be a free man, so it's a stretch.

Re: POLL - Your interpretation of the ending
Just saw it again. Liked it better this time. Still don't think it's a masterpiece, but it's awfully good. I'm pretty sure Cobb was still in limbo at the end. Michael Caine shows up in America out of nowhere and the cut to Cobb's home is very much like a "do you remember how we got here?" moment.

BLOOD MERIDIAN
Personally, I'd like to see Nolan do Cormac Macarthy's Blood Meridian , but he'd need to really commit to the material, which would mean a pretty certain NC-17. But I really think Nolan likes being a populist, so I don't know that he'd ever do something like that. I don't know how you make that movi...

Re: the way i understood memento
The thing that doesnt stick with your theory is we know Leonard cant make new memories, his old memories are etched in stone. Nope. He can make new memories through repetition. This is how he knows his wife is dead, how he knows he "can't make new memories." Through repetition, he's convinced himse...

Re: Name the next batman movie
Gotham Dawn Ew. And then Edward and Bella show up? No way. No -- then Christian Bale and Steve Zahn sit around eating maggots before escaping. (Actually, the Rescue Dawn thing occured to me well after I posted it; the Twilight reference didn't occur to me at all. Nor Red Dawn, Dawn of the Dead, Voy...
