Nolan is just an incredible filmmaker who knows a lot about the craft and how to make good, complex yet very entertaining movies.

Re: Soundtrack "Untitled 2020 Event Film"
Zimmer has been a bit subdued/disappointing in recent years. His work for Nolan is head and shoulders above any other output he has done on his own in recent years. I suspect he will do this film and produce something special again but I can't help but think he is falling behind some of the new tale...

Re: Nolan's Next Film
With a Summer 2020 release I suspect we can rule out anything CG heavy (always a good thing). Something that has a big scale but can be filmed more practically. It could be absolutely anything.
It could also be 'Hell and Gone'.

Re: 2018-2019 Awards Season
First Man snub for Film, Director, Cinematography, Editing and Score stinks. A very mediocre list for Best Film (still to see two fo them). Would have loved to see Lynne Ramsay also for Director. That film (You Were Never Year Here) was 'Directed' as good as, if not better than, any film on the list...

My favourite film of the year by some margin (having seen a lot of the 'front runners')

Re: 2018-2019 Awards Season
Who's going to take it on now knowing their past will be scrutinised? IMHO the academy made a big mistake. This was in the past and they knew it had occurred, so why hire him in the first place? He had addressed and apologised already for the comments. You either accept his past apology and hire the...

Re: Hostiles (2017)
Really great film if you enjoy slow(ish) burn narrative. If I had the chance to see this in the cinema I would take it. Even now.

Fincher's film is a favourite of mine from recent years and his 'involvement' in this along with Foy and Hoeks give me some hope but I'm still annoyed he never got to continue the series.

Re: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019)
I suspect something got lost in translation here. Whilst Morricone has never been one to give two hoots about what people think I doubt he would go out of his way to bad mouth or offend someone without good reason.
