Re: DVD/Blu-ray Release

The 1080p BD of Dunkirk clocks in at a max of 38 mbps and tends to linger around 36 mbps. (acording to my player’s own indication). To compare, I looked at Birdman and Boyhood, both presented close to the same aspect ratio as Dunkirk. Boyhood has a max of 31 mbps and lingers around 22-24 mbps. Bird...

Re: DVD/Blu-ray Release

I'm not talking about theaters here. I've seen Nolan films ten times more often at home, and I think the shifting aspect ratio truly adds to the immersion. And my friends all say the same thing whenever I watch them with someone. There isn't a single IMAX theater in my country, so I've never had th...

Re: DVD/Blu-ray Release

Forbes likes the Blu-ray (but has issues with shifting aspect ratios) I hate when people complain about this. 'issues', wtf... They know nothing about Nolan? Or IMAX cameras? Personally, I don't like them either. Not for a home video release. We don't have eight story tall buildings. Even if we did...

I was kidding if it wasn't clear lol. LIke OMG Lee Smith committed a sin.
Baby Driver editing was great tbh, I could see it getting a nomination.

Any musicians on NF?

I think I'm going to start posting more covers to YouTube. Here are some old songs, all purely instrumentals and no vocals. Some songs should sound kind of familiar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoyYyiIs01Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CF-6SIOMWHE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skUatGfyT2s http:...

Re: Dunkirk Awards Season Discussion Thread

What shot are you talking about Muff? I bet TLJ will get a nomination for it's VFX, but it definitely doesn't deserve to win. When Admiral Holdo rips through Snoke's Juggnernaut with their vessel at light speed. Technically it is multiple shots because it loops the same thing from different angles,...

Re: Dunkirk General Information/Discussion

That's how it looked in 70mm IMAX. We just had nothing to compare it to in terms of appearance.

Re: Dunkirk Awards Season Discussion Thread

The Last Jedi had one extremely impressive shot. The rest of it ran the gamut. What about the two bad CGI scenes: (The Last Jedi spoilers) when Finn and Rose are riding the llama-animal-thingy, and when they are riding the First-Order-walker-thingy Well, that is not the extremely impressive CGI mom...
