I do think the whole Barbenheimer saving cinema narrative will help Nolan this year. Any other year I don't think box office would've mattered, but in this bad year of constant flops we have seen plenty of industry insiders applaud Nolan for getting people in theatre seats.

Even though Nolan was being polite by saying there's a possibility of working with WB again, at this point I think he will stick with Universal for a long time.

The trend with critics is really to give Nolan his director win and Oppenheimer a bunch of technical awards but not the Best Picture lol

Oppenheimer is definitely a lot safer in the Director category than the BP category. Seems like a lot of critics are giving Nolan the Director award while giving KOTFM the BP.
