Re: The Kick

Yes the line “You can’t be kicked out limbo” was never said in the film but it’s certainly true. If they could be kicked out of Limbo then why would Cobb and Ariadne take the risk of even going into Limbo in the first place after Fischer? They could have just used the defibrillators and then kicked...

Re: The Kick

We know someone else can't kick you out of Limbo as well otherwise Cobb would have just killed himself and kicked Mal out of Limbo, he had to have Mal kill herself as well. If Cobb killed himself and woke up, he could have turned and woke up Mal immediately. But, the 20 seconds it took for him to w...

Re: Why doesn't Fischer go into limbo?

The way to enter limbo was explained simply as dying when under heavy sedation. If, when having just entered limbo, you're lucid and sentient (not deep, as you suggest), why couldn't you just kill yourself right away to return to normal dream state? Your explanation seems to suggest Cobb and Ariadn...

Re: The Kick

The difference between Limbo and any of the Levels is that you can’t use a kick it seems to get out of Limbo. You have to kill yourself (otherwise Cobb would have just killed Mal), genuinely want to get out, and also remember or believe that you are in a dream(the whole deal with Cobb doing Incepti...

Re: Why doesn't Fischer go into limbo?

So we've concluded that you can get into limbo without dying in a dream under heavy sedation (despite it being explained otherwise), and you can choose to leave limbo any time you want by dying. Yes and Yes. Although, what do you mean by "despite it being explained otherwise"? Cobb and Mal only tou...

Re: The Kick

Again Limbo is dangerous because you would be stuck there until the sedatives wore off since your body would be dead. Would you want to be stuck in a fake world for god knows how long with only projections you created yourself to keep you company? It could drive you insane. Hell people can go insan...

Re: The Kick

remember that they got there by choice... going deeper and deeper. Saito and Fischer did not and would have been lost in their subconscious not consiously creating limbo, but from subconscious only. Again, this takes away the threat of limbo. The only way limbo is dangerous is if you are sent there...

Re: The Kick

He knew where he was but he was struggling, having been beaten mentally (by years in limbo) while starved and physically beaten in the custody of Saito's goons. It was obvious to me on second viewing just how close Cobb was to failing the mission by succumbing to the limbo state. Actually I don't t...

Re: Why doesn't Fischer go into limbo?

How does Ariadne escape Limbo by just dying? I thought Limbo was inescapable until the sedative begins to wear off. If you can return to normal dream state by dying in limbo, then it's easy to escape (just two or more steps removed). Dying, or the sedative wearing off, is the only way to escape lim...

Re: The Kick

I think Cobb being "delirious" would be easily explainable as Saito's subconscious not having a clue what Cobb was. Anything he said would have made no sense. And maybe Cobb pretended to be delirous, because then he wouldn't have to draw attention to himself, giving his subconscious reason to attac...
