Re: Notes on Inception

I liked a notion that I read somewhere - that Cobb's wedding ring is his real totem.. but not in the sense that he realizes it.

Re: What's the PC way of saying" this movie was crap?

I agree in general films are better in the cinema but with films like Insomnia, it actually adds to the film and watcing it on DVD takes a lot of the films elements away. But you typing in "I tend to feel as sleepy as Pacino if I watch it at night... perhaps that's part of Nolan's idea that the aud...

Re: What's the PC way of saying" this movie was crap?

I honestly think it's one of his best films. I think the main problem is that most people have watched this film on DVD and not in the cinema. To truly admire/appreciate this film it has to be seen in the cinema as Nolan's play with the sound is stunning in this film and adds another layer to Insom...

Re: Superman Casting Details

I didn't like him in Watchmen, and If he's the best they can find, then just recast Brandon Routh for sure. I'm all for an unknown over this guy. If this happens, my fear over Snyder as director of this project is starting to be confirmed. It's not as bad as Nicholas Cage as Supes, but its not far o...

Pfister on using Film vs. HD Video

I really, really appreciate Nolan and Pfister's approach regarding Film vs. HD Video. The only filmmaker I've conciously been aware of using HD video in a unique way is Michael Mann, and I appreciate his approach as well, as he seems to have created a look and feel that he wants for the films he's s...

Re: Superman Casting Details

I'm in the camp that I would have loved to see Routh be Superman again. I undersatnd and don't disagree why these filmmakers wouldn't want to bring him back, and if they find a good actor for it, I'm sure we'll forget about Routh. I just think Routh was so good on both sides of the role and it's ash...

Huh? I've seen all the Batman movies.. but I don't see what the 66 or 89 (whichever you're referring to) film has to do with anything I've said.

Re: Nolan: Behind the title "RISES"

Agreed. Could even Nolan pull that off? Not as part of the world he has created. He's too firmly rooted in reality in this series. How's Che for reality? Or any revolutionary, ever... I never saw Che, so I can't comment. But leading a Revolutionary Army in a modern-day Amercian City? I just don't s...

I guess you were trying to perform Inception on Nolan? ;)
