Does it need a sequel? I think the film works better on its own. A prequel, maybe; but the second you continue Cobb's story you'd have to tell whether or not he's in reality. That would kill the first one.

Does rising necessarily mean surviving? Batman is a symbol intended to move the people of Gotham toward a brighter future. So long as that's the outcome then Batman is indeed rising.

I'm split on this one. Nolan said this one will "wrap up the series". The previous two have been dark and quite dramatically compelling; They didn't shy away from killing off Rachel Dawes and that made a wonderful focal point for the film.
