Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Promising Young Woman - I want to love this so much, because it has a lot of things I love going for it, but I just found the very ending to be so frustrating. I can easily forgive slightly nonsensical plot bits, or its generally slightly confusing and unsure of itself thematic vibes, but I thought...

Re: Diary: A NolanFans Story

Glad to hear you’re well now, Lelek.

We had a covid scare in our family a couple of weeks ago, but repeated tests came out negative, so I guess all is “fine”. Back to waiting for that vaccine for god knows how long.

It really is a lot of fun. Skull Island taps into the ridiculousness of it all and then it soars.

I'm ready for my reptilian and simian overlords to smash each other to pieces

Re: Godzilla vs. Kong (2020)

I really liked Godzilla like immediately after watching it in theaters but when I rewatched it last year, I thought it was pretty good, but it was a big misfire for them to have Cranston play such a small role. Caught glimpses of Skull Island on TV like a few weeks ago, and I was just thinking how h...

Re: Untitled David O. Russell Film (TBD)

David O Russell's a piece of shit and probably shouldn't be working, but his movies net actors nominations and thus they want to work with him. Yeah, which is why we should side eye these people. It makes it even worse - no one’s even trying to pretend he’s a nice guy with flaws, it’s blatantly awa...

Re: Untitled David O. Russell Film (TBD)

Same Amy Adams who allegedly cried on that same set to the point of Bale needing to interfere? I don’t even hate Russell’s movies themselves (I liked Three Kings...a lot!!), but it’s okay to side eye not only him and this project, but also every single name so happily attached to this. We’re bound t...

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

I have recently watched Double Indemnity and Sunset Boulevard. Double Indemnity, surprisingly, I didn’t personally really click with. I didn’t make any notes on my thoughts of it (lol), so maybe I won’t be able to elaborate too much, but the leads’ romance didn’t really sell. The dialogue at times f...

And I didn’t even stan him. like i’m sorry but some of the screenshots I read and like holy shit how does one’s mind even come up with that shit??? you see a hot attractive w...

Re: Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

Yeah DHOPW42’s posts I always stop to read. And I agree with a lot of what he says on this film, in fact as I read his take I had saved a draft of my own thoughts on this after my initial watch, just never ended posting it lol. We see you dude!
