Re: Black Panther (2018)

I personally don’t think it matters which one ends up being number 1. That was never what I said or what my post was about. I think its arithmetically incorrect to have either metric as the barometer because it ignores the most basic concept of trends and contextual data. If you’re using one it shou...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

Black Panther is also doing these numbers with fewer theatres than The Avengers and The Dark Knight. It was released in 346 theatres less than The Dark Knight and 329 theatres less than The Avengers. Black Panther gained 64 theatres in its third week of release but it was still around 200 less than ...

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Coco I don't know maybe its because I just seen Moana but Coco kinda felt like a companion piece to Moana. In the sense that its a story about conquering what your heart wants against your family wishes. This film is full of beauty, vivid colours, genuine emotions and I loved that it pays so much r...

Arrested Development: Why Mae Whitman was supposed to be recast http://ew.com/tv/2018/03/09/couch-surfing-mae-whitman-arrested-development/ “The best part of it is they were originally going to keep replacing the actress that played Ann, just so you were always on your toes,” Whitman reveals. “And ...

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

I watched Moana for the first time with my (almost) 2 year old daughter. Whenever The Rock said "You're Welcome" in his song, she kept responding with "Thank You". That made me laugh so hard.

I really liked the film. I thought it was phenomenally done.

Re: Black Panther (2018)

What people miss when they compare the metascores for this and The Dark Knight is that The Dark Knight has 16 perfect scores, while Panther has 10. And ultimately the most important factor are the year end critics' top ten lists. And that usually depends on the number of critics who enthusiasticall...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

I don’t think it was suppose to be meaningful. She was insignificant to him. I really liked how women’s gender was incidental to their society. It wasn’t a factor, like at all, in their worth. Women weren’t used as obstacles to prevent other characters from achieving their goals. Like Killmonger did...

Re: 2017-2018 Awards Season

The highlights for me were; - Seeing del Toro winning Best Director and Best Picture. I’m stoked to watch The Shape of Water whenever that happens. - Dunkirk winning its three Oscars. Lee Smith is one frigging tall fella, lol. It was cool to see Mathew McConaughey excited for Lee Smith and pointing ...
