Re: First Man (2018)

I have to say I am confused over the adoration for the score. Much of its /heavily/ influenced by temp. What’s truly original is fine, if not simple and a little too understated imo.

Here to rep Ben Wallfisch, who did all of the heavy lifting on 2049.

Wonder what he listens to
Could very well be listening to a 3 hour demo of score ideas prepared by Hans Zimmer for their next movie.

Re: Last Film You Watched? VI

Recently went thru Bong Joon-ho's work. Dude is definitely one of the truly idiosyncratic filmmakers working today. His successful combination of varied, often competing tones is a unique feat not many can pull off, let alone attempt. Memories of Murder > Mother > Okja > The Host > Snowpiercer My Le...

Re: Okja (2017)

The first act of this film is god damn wonderful. Then it flounders a bit. Gyllenhaal goes for broke. Khondji delivers striking photography. Re: Bond 25 (2020)

Dan Romer seems to be Cary's go-to composer nowadays. Curious if they let him do Bond. Cary worked with Dario Marianelli, one of my favorites, on Jane Eyre. Could be a good choice as well.
