Re: Trailer #1

^ One small correction: "We imagine a future…and our imaginings horrify us ." Cillian sounds so different in the bootleg for this. I wonder if it's just distorted. I LOVE how Cillian sounds here, but then he just sounds like himself in the IMAX version. His accent even seems to come through on the ...

Re: Trailer #1

In the new Non-IMAX trailer, Oppenheimer delivers a captivating voice-over narration: ”We imagine a future…and our imaginings horrify us. They won’t fear it…until they understand it. And they won’t understand it…until they’ve used it. The theory will only take you so far. I don’t know if we can be t...

Re: Trailer #1

I understand the sentiment, but, once again, it feels like some people don't know Nolan at all after all these years :D For my part, what I've seen from the theatrical trailer I found very effective and felt like a proper Nolan blockbuster, one that elevates its material and makes it into an unlike...

If you’ve watched TENET, and you’re interested in understanding and learning about the philosophical arguments the film makes...and you’d like to gain a clear summary and interpretation of the movie including its hidden messages (like the Sator Square) and how it relates to the film’s Fatalism theme...

Interstellar and Space Colonization

Interstellar forces us to think about important issues. For instance, in the film, space colonization is justified out of necessity...to save our species. But is it realistic? More importantly, is it ethical to do so? Do we have the right to do so? To help fuel our discussion here, found a piece tha...

In reply to stoifics42:

Thanks for correcting me on the exact quote by Old Murph "the light of her new sun," and for providing Kip's description of the accretion disc. This is helpful!

Re: What is your interpretation of the ending? SPOILERS AHE

Did anyone wonder what "Old Murph" was referring to when she said at the end of the film "...and our new sun" while we watch Amelia burying Edmunds? There's no sun. There's the spinning Black Hole Gargantua right next to Edmunds' planet. Is Old Murph referring to Gargantua as the new sun? Could Garg...

Re: What is your interpretation of the ending? SPOILERS AHE

Saw the film on 70mm IMAX yesterday and I was blown away. Enjoying all the commentary and insights on this particular thread. I plan to weigh in more on the ending after I see the film a couple more times. But one thing I'm wondering about right now is the loud humming sound we hear in Murph's bedro...
