Re: 'Interstellar' Reviews Discussion

I N T E R S T E L L A R A FILM BY CHRISTOPHER NOLAN I had the chance to attend to the premiere of Interstellar in Paris in 70mm film (I’m French so I’m already sorry if you don’t understand me, but I think it will be comprehensible). In this “uncut/extended” review of the latest film from Christoph...

Are your friends torn on TDKR?

I have another friend who wondered why batman wasnt in the Avengers and has his own movie. :suicide: I'd have answered: "He's that awesome". Anyway, my friends loved it! (the ones that had hated TDK didn't even bother watching this one, though :D) And interestingly enough, most of them explic...

Are your friends torn on TDKR?

I hope you mentioned to them that it has now been confirmed that it wasn't a dream. I'm sick of those who say it's a dream. I don't get how can they think so... I mean, the ending was pretty simple, not over-complicated or something. If Nolan had made this before Inception I'm sure no one would be ...

Continuity with the first two films (Innocence and children)

By the way, I think we all really need to thank Hans Zimmer for the stadium scene. It hurts to think that one of the most beautiful and meaningful scenes in the whole film could have been just a celebrity cameo. Ugh. What do you mean? This is what Nolan wrote in the notes accompanying the OST CD: T...

Great post, Mika!
It's nice that the same music accompanies Batman's "birth" (as someone else pointed out on these boards, it also plays when Bruce's parents are killed in BB) and "death".

EDIT: So, Baniac was the "someone". Love your observations about the music in TDKR, too!

What was the last movie you watched? IV: Watch Harder

Original: 9/10 1997 Special Edition: 7/10 (Jedi Rocks dropped it down by two points  ) 2004 DVD: 6.5/10 2011 Blu-Ray: 6/10 I personally accept and welcome the visual changes. Even if ti's CGI, it helps represent the more 'weird' world Lucas was trying to create. I also can understand some...

Continuity with the first two films (Innocence and children)

Yeah, you're right LiberNovus , I hadn't thought about that while writing my post but the theme of grief/guilt/anger becoming a paralyzing obsession is pretty much a constant for most of Nolan's main characters. But while the protagonists of Nolan's previous films ultimately fell victim to their own...

The TDKR section needs more threads like this one. Ancap , nice observations about Talia. What drives her to avenge Ra's is not really a sudden change of heart towards him as a person; she can't overcome it for the fact that it's the death of her father . Ra's death throws her back into the c...
