he was less enthusiastic than i would have anticipated, i was expecting Dunkirk levels of praise, it seems he liked it but he didnt love it wich is kind of a shame, but regardless this movie continues to get praised everywhere.

Saw your review in the other thread. I guess it might be a good thing I haven't read the book. I don't have any expectations about the story. I'm curious to see how it goes!

Unironically, I do think Armond White is one of the best critics in the industry. I disagree with him a lot and sometimes he does read way too much into a movies politics but he is generally right about the empty propagandistic and liberal sensibilities of Hollywood and I appreciate he is there as a writer to expose it (particularly for really bad offenders like Women Talking or Blackkklansman)
