The part that kinda bugs me in the prologue
is how fast the audience is put to sleep.

We see a few shots of the audience with the terrorist but not too much. Then we are with the SWAT guys pumping the gas through the vent, and the very next shot the audience is all asleep. It seems awful quick acting. And they are all asleep perfectly upright in their chairs?? Wouldn't some of the audience smell the gas and try to run away and then collapse on the floor and such.

Yea that part does feel a bit 'off' but I didn't mind it that much. What bothers me if how John Washington was running around but there so little shooting exchanges. But I bet this will be fixed during the editing room.

Let me get this straight.
You guys really want to see a 2+ minute shot of the audience in the opera house slowly falling asleep from the gas?
. I'm sure glad you guys aren't the director.

I am not saying that. Nolan obviously wants the
audience to falls asleep quick so that the focus can be on JDW and inversion scene.

Note that I also said I didn't really mind that. Please read carefully before being so sarcastic.

Did anybody say a 2+minute shot? Another 20-30 seconds of establishing shots would work to showcase the audience more naturally being put to sleep and help have better flow in the whole scene, because the way it is portrayed right now is unrealistic and contrived.

Hopefully, there will be more to the prologue, more fleshed out, in the actual movie. Because while it is entertaining, it is also weirdly edited and just confusing, really, IMO

I am pretty sure there will be further edit. The prologue was a cut done when the filming just concluded last December. I am sure we will see better editing in the actual movie.

That said, I really dig some of the code word dialogue. So mysterious and old school spy-like.

The Making Of book confirms that the opera house sequence is the opening of the film, I wonder if there’s more to the sequence of if is indeed the opening of the film as is. Not a lot of exposition in the prologue.
I think so because right after JDW says “let’s get him to the rally point” it immediately cuts to them at the rally point, but the second trailer showed footage of JDW and the VIP running across the seats so I imagine the final version will be extended a bit to show JDW escorting the VIP to the rally point instead of the immediate cut to it that we saw.
That shot in the trailer, from the prologue, where he is escorting the VIP is super important because in the prologue, that shot isn't there, and so when JDW and VIP jumped down they are in the middle of the audience and then the next shot they are at the end of the isle. When watching the prologue (after the 10th time) I thought it was a continuity error. As soon as the trailer came out I noticed that shot, and thought shit, they shot the connective tissue...I've very curious if it's in the actual movie.

Maybe the prologue has strict time limits and Nolan trim that part to showcase the other action sequence.
