Also blame the US federal government for doing terrible job at handling Covid 19. If the government did a better job. Theaters would not be in this mess. Maybe Mulun keeps it release date.

Honestly it should be delayed longer. Why release it on Wednesday?
WB want to minimise it’s financial loss hence the mid week debut is a strategic decision.
Warner Bros. is committed to bringing ‘Tenet’ to audiences in theaters, on the big screen, when exhibitors are ready and public health officials say it’s time,” a Warner Bros. spokesperson said in a statement. “In this moment what we need to be is flexible, and we are not treating this as a traditional movie release. We are choosing to open the movie mid-week to allow audiences to discover the film in their own time, and we plan to play longer, over an extended play period far beyond the norm, to develop a very different yet successful release strategy.”

It's time people get off their high-horses, pretending to care about public health to score online virtue points. With all precautions in place you're still magnitudes more likely to die in a car accident on the way to the theatre than catching COVID-19 in the theatre. WB isn't moving the release date for public health reasons, like some big corporation cares about that.. They are moving it because people are too scared to go and they don't want to lose money. I bet you if people were less hysterical (like many of the people on this forum) and more realistic, Tenet would open as planned, businesses would not be suffering as badly and our economy wouldn't be as shitty as it is now. America is effectively committing suicide out of fear.

Lemme guess, you're from New York and you're bitter that other people will get to see the movie before you.

One of Houston's largest hospitals is at 100% ICU capacity.

This pandemic is no joke you guys. Stay safe and stay sensible please. Ignore the people here who are trying to gaslight you or make fun of you for being worried. The pandemic still exists and it's getting worse in the US.

They must have spent millions of their marketing budget by now, why not go 100% in on August 14, and VOD premium in US (surley theaters or Nolan himself can't complain about that) and theaters in Europe? Either that or postpone a year or more now, America is not ready to open on August 14, that seems obvious.

Nolan and WB can't blow $50-100 million dollars in adverstings just to keep exhibitors hopeful and happy.

What do you guys think?

WB always had a plan in place in case a situation such as this occurred, if things aren't better by 8/12 they will move the film to December and take Dune's spot.
This was always going to be a fluid situation.

I definitely don’t expect it to keep the August date, probably best to delay it indefinitely, as the above post states, it’s a fluid situation, things are bound to change and all they can really do is go with the flow.

Personally I’d rather it go direct to video as opposed to a restricted theatrical release.

Honestly do you guys think they might delay until next year? I mean yeah they want to save movie theaters asap but their main goal is to make money, and they can't really do that right now

No I think if August isn't possible they'll move it to Dune's spot in December.
