Under Sanders, income and jobs would soar, economist says

Median income would soar by more than $22,000. Nearly 26 million jobs would be created. The unemployment rate would fall to 3.8%.

Friedman, who believes in democratic socialism like the candidate, found that if Sanders became president -- and was able to push his plan through Congress -- median household income would be $82,200 by 2026, far higher than the $59,300 projected by the Congressional Budget Office.

In addition, poverty would plummet to a record low 6%, as opposed to the CBO's forecast of 13.9%. The U.S. economy would grow by 5.3% per year, instead of 2.1%, and the nation's $1.3 trillion deficit would turn into a large surplus by Sanders' second term.

But does this take into account all the money that will be taken out of the country by the billionaires who very much like to remain as such though?

Probs not. but idk if billionaires can take out that much money without someone noticing and calling them out.

I think Virgo was being rhetorical.

But I think 'Billionaires taking money out of economy' is a Republican bogeyman.

And even if it happens, despite all the issues and obstacles in the way, and US government decides to curb it, no country (where billionaires would wanna live) would oppose them.

So Bernie had a heart attack, luckily doing fine after surgery but damn, I really hope he gets the Democratic nomination so he can take on Trump (or Pence lol) next year

He's had an enormous impact already because his policies framed the debates, especially regarding healthcare, since all the other candidates now have to position themselves with regards to something like Medicare For All. I think that, even if he doesn't get the nomination, he's going to continue to push for the policies he believes in and build grassroots support for them. Left-wingers in the US know what it's like to not be part of a political conversation, since the Democratic Party is a centrist or sometimes even centre-right party, socially liberal but right-wing in terms of economics and foreign policy and mostly capitalist. That is also why Democrats are so scared of Bernie winning the nomination because they know that true leftwing policies would actually mean the end of a lot of the shenanigans of the consultant class and as president he would be in a great position to change US foreign policy away from these endless wars.
