^Demoph, oh yeah for sure. I wanted to acknowledge this in my post, but it’s obvious anyway. I’m a hypocrite haha. But I just can’t help but feel this way. Unlike Dany, this actually feels closer to character “betrayal”.

real question is whether folks will be as unreasonably horrible to D&D as they have been to Rian Johnson
seems people just like to be outraged

this too. like i get people are attached to this show (me included) and once again, there are very real and legit reasons to criticize this, but holy shit some people
Fair and nuanced takes overall Ruth. I was acting like an idiot last night but I was mostly baffled by people being so utterly shocked by Dany’s actions. They ignored A LOT of stuff.
Agreed, it’s just too much and I largely hated what they did with Jaime.
The internet wasn't exactly what it is now tho
yea
I mean
so people thinking this was all of a sudden are kidding themselves

Social media wasn't quite what it is now, and even then, Devin Faraci sent Lindelof to therapy.
I saw the quote as well, but the point is that it felt sudden in that very scene, in the very episode. I think this is what people are getting at: yes, she was portrayed as a badass would-be queen already a few seasons ago, but the scene and the episode itself (or even the last few episodes) didn't help make her actions seem credible in the context of the episode itself. But, once again, I really don't want to convince anyone.
