Sam Mendes is back ! And with a very interesting project : https://theplaylist.net/sam-mendes-stev ... um=twitter
According to Deadline, Mendes will helm the World War I film, “1917,” next. No word on the specific plot of the flim, but we do know that in addition to directing the film, Mendes is credited as co-writing the film with Krysty Wilson-Cairns. Surprisingly, this marks the first film by Sam Mendes where he’s credited as screenwriter. Wilson-Cairns, on the other hand, has been writing for a while, on projects such as “Penny Dreadful” and “The Voyeur’s Motel.”

So Spielberg describes the movie as "hugely daring and ambitious". Very intrigued by this one.

And Sam Mendes is such a very talented guy, so it's great to see him back with a huge and ambitious original project like this one (I also want him to make his adaptation of "The Voyeur's Motel").

Nolan should also make a WWI film one day. I hope he will.

There's still so much to explore from WWI in film, a Fincher WWI would be quite something as well. That is, when he finally makes another feature film... And that still seems to be WWZ2...
