This drives me nuts as someone who deeply desires to understand what separates the great directors from the not so great. Everyone always alludes to Chris with "he gave me the best note" or "I trust him" or "he's great"... but never articulate what exactly is going on in that relationship that is so different from XYZ director. I want the DEETS, Anne Hathaway, goddammit.Nicolaslabra wrote: ↑October 8th, 2025, 6:30 pm"insert directors name" has such a clear, powerful vision, but he`s also so collaborative.User of Interest wrote: ↑October 8th, 2025, 5:28 pmI find it very interesting that a lot of actors are saying the same thing in one way or antoher:
"I learned so much from "set title here"-filmset"
The Odyssey (2026) Cast
I didn't mean it as a negative thing at all. I agree with what you say. It's just that I think that it's funny, but also awesomeNicolaslabra wrote: ↑October 8th, 2025, 6:30 pm"insert directors name" has such a clear, powerful vision, but he`s also so collaborative.User of Interest wrote: ↑October 8th, 2025, 5:28 pmI find it very interesting that a lot of actors are saying the same thing in one way or antoher:

Have you not been looking at interviews with actors who have worked with him for the past couple of decades? Your answers will be there, there's no way they're not.u2aerofan wrote: ↑October 8th, 2025, 10:27 pmThis drives me nuts as someone who deeply desires to understand what separates the great directors from the not so great. More from Benny Safdie (go see Smashing Machine, it's pretty good) nothing new, but he does confirm he was part of the Morocco filming

to drive my joke tangent about making of and actor interviews to a close, id looove to point some of you to two of my favourite behind the scenes pieces ever, and they are both Finchers, the social networks special features, and the girl with the dragon tattoo, both have very long (TGWTDT`s special features are longer than the movie <3)
and really all encompassing footage of the shooting and the sets, you get to see and hear how Fincher directs actors, not just the talking head interviews !
there is a really cool moment in the social network bts when you get to see Sorkin and Fincher argue, like an actual argument about the script and its sooo real and raw, i wish more behind the scenes stuff was like this and less of the talking head with some b roll footage spliced in.

Since we seem to be back...James Remar is a cool addition to the cast.

He was in Oppenheimer as the general who didn't want one of his favorite vacation spots as one of the targets for the bomb.

Can't download the video, but here's a link to Elliot discussing some of the experience of being called in and filming. Plus letting us know how they deal with the sound of the IMAX cameras.
